About Amy

Suffering years of emotional, physical and sexual abuse from multiple abusers Amy spent the next twenty-six years living inside her own internal hell, suffering from PTSD, Severe Depression, Self- mutilation and many Suicide attempts. During those years she struggled with her faith, angry at God and wondering why He abandoned her until He proved He had been with her the whole time. Amy has learned how to let go of the pain and move forward. For the first time she loves the person she sees in the mirror. Stronger than ever she is no longer a victim but a SUVIVOR! Amy  wants  to share her story and is currently writing her memoir "Beyond the Scars", with hopes to help other victims become survivors and teach them how they too can love themselves again and to allow themselves to FEEL love. To have a new beginning, a new life, the life that they long for and deserve! A life Beyond the Scars. Amy is a published author,  and has been a guest speaker on radio, pod casts and interviewed for magazines.

A LETTER FROM ME TO YOU --

Live the life you never thought was possible. The life you deserve.

Year after year of the same. Pain, resentment, anger, shame. Have you been there? Looking at yourself in the mirror with so much hate, you can't even look into your own eyes. Weeks, months and years of good memories lost just in an attempt to forget some of the bad ones. Never letting anyone close, because you can't take the chance of getting hurt. Again. The walls are up, and your main goal is to not feel anything anymore.

But you do feel.

You feel every word. Every thought. Every memory you can't erase. Never knowing when a word, sound, or smell is going to trigger one of the memories, playing over and over again like a broken record in your mind. Each time it cuts deeper and deeper. This is living in your own internal hell. The scars left behind from abuse are crippling. This was my life for twenty-six years. I am not alone, either. Every 9 seconds in the U.S., a woman is assaulted or beaten. A woman is raped every 2 minutes. 84% knew their attacker, and 57% happened while on a date.1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys is sexually abused before the age of 18. There are 39 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse in America. 3 million reports of child abuse are made every year. 3.3 million children witness domestic violence every year. Depression affects 121 million people worldwide. Many cases of abuse are never even reported.

We can't change what has happened to us, but we can change how we let our scars affect us for the rest of our lives.

I want to share with you my story, and how you too can start living the life you never thought was possible. The life you deserve. It is time to begin the journey of healing.

I would also like to thank my husband and three amazing children for never giving up on me and for believing in me. I love you!

Love,  Amy K. Collier
